COVID-19 Android & iOS App
Maven in partnership with Panafricare has developed a smartphone app to help raise awareness and assist in the fight against the spread of the COVID-19 virus in our community.
Using our technical skills and experience in app development we wanted to leverage the Internet to help provide accurate and timely information to as many people as possible around the country.
In view of time constraints, we worked concurrently on apps for both Android and iOS platforms. We're proud to have completed these apps in such a short time frame and hope they will be of use to our community during this trying time.
The app is currently available for Android and iOS users and allows for the following functions:
- Allows users to perform virtual COVID-19 screening by asking a series of multiple choice questions
- Provides users with timely and up-to-date public health advice based on their screening results and in line with the Seychelles Department of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO)
- Allows users to follow national case statistics (confirmed, deaths, recoveries, etc)
- Provides push notifications to users on new case developments as they happen
- On completion of the virtual screening and the answers provided by the user, the recommended course of action is given that should be followed. The recommendations are aligned with those of the Seychelles Department of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO).
Information such as prohibition orders, social distancing, hygiene, and all other relevant guidelines as expressed by the Seychelles Department of Health and the WHO are given.
Once screened and if the user shows any symptoms consistent with COVID-19, the app will immediately prompt them to contact the national 141 helpline for their case follow up.
The purpose of the app is to raise awareness of the COVID-19 pandemic by providing guidelines on health and safety, providing a means for users to track the national case statistics, and gather anonymised, supplementary data on the spread of the virus in our community.
The app is currently available for Android and iOS users by free download on https://lasante.app or the respective app stores.
